Israel is 8550 square miles big – about the size of New Jersey (the 5th smallest state in the US). About three-quarters of the people who live in Israel are Jewish. There are two official languages in Israel: Hebrew and Arabic. Lots of Israelis speak English, Russian, and French, too!
Israel is the home to the lowest point on Earth. The Dead Sea lies 420 meters below sea level. It is the lowest point on Earth. Because of the amount of salt in the water, it’s almost ten times saltier than the ocean, when you enter the Dead Sea you float.
